Jaundice Scare - 11-14 Aug 08

These few days have been quite a strain for D&M as I am certified to be "jaundice" positive...according to Dr Ngiam whom we saw on Tue, any score above 16 will be deem to be a jaundice +ve....and I hit the score of 18.3 on Tuesday when I went in for my first visit to Dr Ngiam...a higher score which doesn't spell good news...D&M expected it....cos I was still quite yellowish then despite D&M efforts to bask me in the morning sun since Monday....anyway, as I'm a borderline case...and as explained by Doc that Jaundice could also arise because of breast-feeding...he decided to allow me to go home (much to the relief of D&M esp Mummy as she was sobbing away at the hospital canteen when the clinic called to notify us of the test results at the lab...ppl were wondering if Daddy bully her...haha) but I've to be taken off BM and be fed a special formula milk (which Daddy realised for the first time in his life that such a small container of milk bottle can cost so much!)....anyway, D&M were glad that I made it home on Tue and will have to get back to Doc again on Wed (after 24hrs off BM) to determine if the level of jaundice went down after this measure...

So Daddy took the effort to wake up every morning to "suntan" me...hehe...check out my topless pic below...which sly Daddy took on Wed...hehe...dun worry, daddy is nice enough to make sure my pretty face stay fair with the towel and curtain by the bay windows in D&M's bedroom...

Wed came...and I manage to pass the test with slight decline in the level...however, Doc wanted me back on Friday to confirm that my level is indeed dipping...so let's keep our fingers crossed...anyway, I'm feeling good with the good sleep I'm getting from sleeping with D&M as well as the regular feeding cycles that D&M adheres to strictly..hehe..esp Daddy who wakes up faithfully at night to feed me..that's why I always finished his feed...hehe..almost...hehe...

A Peaceful Sunday- 10 Aug 08

I woke D&M up early today...about 5plus...cos I wanted my feed and decided for a change of diapers too...Daddy decided to go for a jog...and he promised to bring me when I'm older...that's great! So i laze ard in bed with Mummy and sly Daddy took some pics of us when he was back from his jog! See, I'm striking similar post as my mummy...she is still very tired from the feeding and the deliveryplus the fact that I am so active at night...so she is trying to catch as much rest as possible...hehe...

Sunday is rest day for my family...as everyone is exhausted from the many disturbed nights since I arrived back home..hehe..including myself so I slept through most of the day...D&M were getting worried about the yellowish of my appearance...so they try to sun me for a while...including PoPo...nighttime was spent with D&M who were busying doing up documentation for the registration of my birth & some grants...hehe...heard from Daddy that this year, our PM has yet to announce any goodies leh....=(

But D&M were still glad to have me ard...I can feel that!=)

Visiting Day- 9 Aug 08

Today is National Day...and most of my visitors(i.e. Uncle Herng & Family, Uncle Wee Loon& Family) came dressed in Red & White...i saw my grand-aunt & grand-godma today too...Daddy said that some day soon then he be bringing me to see great grandma too...also Lew Hui Jie Jie is being charged for posing with me...daddy needs the money for my educational funds...=)

All the while when the visitors are here in the day, I pretend to be a good girl sleeping and din cry much for the day...but when nightfall, the naughty me started to haunt D&M again..hehe...but I think I'm slowly adjusting...and somehow, i get frightened whenever the lights in the room are off, so Daddy went to get some smooth orange lights for the roomyesterday...and I love sleeping with D&M...hehe...despite them almost crushing into me on many occasions...=)

Fortune Telling Day - 8 Aug 08

D&M had a unsettled night as I started getting adjusted to my first night back at home....they are almost up every other hour as I fussed ard with feeding and shitting...haha...you should have checked out their PANDA eyes...think daddy looks like Kungfu Panda in the morning because of his size...haha...

Today, Daddy & Grandma made a trip down to a fortune teller at Bedok to get some ideas for my chinese name. This renowed fortune teller was very fast in his explaination of my so-called stats according to the chinese lunar calendar...according to him, I'm borned at a very auspicious hour (2233) and is of the Fire element (therefore scare of the soil element). He even mentioned that colours best for me are Black, Blue, White, Grey, Green and avoid Yellow, Brown, Orange! Daddy is worried cos he has chosen a bright orange and yellow for my room...haha...we see how it goes later...a good excuse to get my room redecorated in future! haha..manage to get some suggestions for chinese names...and the next few days, i think D&M will finalise my chinese name. Also manage to calculate my english name...ELLA...which is not so good....so D&M is reconsidering to rename this...let's hope all these will be settled by next Tuesday when I need to get back to hospital for a follow-up check up with Dr Ngaim...=)

Today also happens to be the opening of Beijing Olympics as today is a great day (080808)...what a great day!

Home Sweet Home! - 7 Aug 08

I'm going home! Today, Dr Foong & Dr Yip gave both mummy and me the clearance for us to get discharged. Mummy quickly informed daddy who came by with grandma to assist. Lots of last minute documentation to settle and of course the bills...Daddy is shocked by the amount...and hope that they made a mistake..haha...

Soon, i got home (although at a very slow speed as Daddy is worried to drive fast) and I started getting curious and began my exploration of the surroundings...took me a while to get adjusted...=)

In the evening, Daddy brought over PoPo & GongGong to stay with us as PoPo is assisting D&M with the confinement of mummy. hehe...cool, two more persons to play ard with...I'm sure I will be keeping them busy with my persistent demands!

A busy day at Ward 525

Today is a busy day at mummy's ward. Lots of visitors such as daddy's & mummy's colleagues & relatives. Some of D&M pals also were here and I decided to demo to some of them my loud screams! I enjoyed listening to the many voices ard me though they kept me awake almost for the whole day. D&M went for parentcraft class at the hospital so that they know how to take good care of me!...check out my vital stats here!

My Big Day - 5 August 08

Today, mummy started getting more signs that I may be ready to arrive within the next couple of days...so daddy decided to request to work from home to take care of mummy. D&M scheduled to see Dr Foong later in the evening if need be.

D&M met with an accident when a stupid taxi uncle decided to reverse fast down a slope in the opposite direction to the flow of traffic...and it nearly hit me & mummy! Daddy was so angry that he scolded off the taxi driver...and he rushed mummy & me to Dr Foong to ensure that I'm all and well. Dr Foong decided to monitor mummy & me (luckily I'm protected by one of the best airbags ard)....after a while...he advised D&M to allow me to come into this world! Finally I can see D&M!! Daddy quickly rushed home to get the prepared stuff while mummy got herself prepared for the painful moments...haha...finally she cant take it and decided to opt for Epidural to ease the pain..i guess I hurt mummy but I'm just trying to get out to see her!


Very soon, mummy is almost ready....but as she is new to this...she having some difficulties pushing me out...so Dr Foong gave by and gave her some assistance with some cute suction device. Daddy is ard to assist mummy...and provide comical relief (who needs laughing gas with Daddy ard).... and finally....after ~5hrs...I get to put a face to the voices that I've been hearing..Mummy, Daddy, Dr Foong....I also did a cute video for daddy who is so excited and happy to see me....=)

Before my first moment on Earth - 3rd August

Halo Everybody,

I guess by now most of my daddy's & mummy's relatives, pals and colleagues would have known about my presence. It's already the 3rd day since I came into the lives of Daddy Eric & Mummy Saulan. Anyway, I just like to share with you how I decided to pop our on 5 August....instead of the lucky 080808 and Singapore National day!

It all begins with a false alarm on Sunday (3rd of August) when I initiated the start signs of delivery on mummy. A cheeky move cos I know daddy woke up early for his long overdue jog and he had plans for a long one today. So when he came back, I "ask" mummy to surprise him and hope to catch his shocked look...but alas, he said relax, he needed to catch up his nap, his meals etc...so it was not before 4pm plus then D&M took a cab down to Gleneagles...with the pre-packed stuff.

It was a quiet evening when D&M checked in (only 1 other expectant mum according to my kapo Daddy who went to cakap with the nurses)...mummy has slight dilution! D&M were so happy thinking that they might be seeing me soon...haha...even Aunt Serene came over hoping to catch a glimpse of me...

However, after 4hrs, mummy ain't diluting fast enough for me to make my entrance..so Dr Foong asked D&M to discharge and wait at home...haha....it was an expensive lesson for D&M! A good 500 for 5 hrs...think Daddy aiming at my bonus to recover this....hehe...or is there any kind souls willing to sponsor? I'll inform Daddy...=)
